To become a member, investors must meet certain criteria that ensure they have the knowledge and experience to make informed investment decisions. Membership is only open to those investing individually and are not brokers or professionals engaged by private equity and venture capital firms.
To become a member of Regional Angels, investors must have a current certificate from a qualified accountant certifying that they meet the prescribed net asset or gross income level to be considered a “Sophisticated Investor” or “Wholesale Investor”. This requirement is in place to ensure that members have the financial resources to make informed investment decisions and understand the potential risks involved. This certificate is mandatory and must be obtained before applying for membership.
Investors must have the knowledge and experience to evaluate the relative merits and risks of any investment opportunity. This means having a solid understanding of financial and business matters, including an understanding of investment strategies, risk management, and the ability to evaluate a business’ financial performance. Additionally, members must have the ability to understand and analyse financial statements, business plans and industry trends.
